General Rules

  1. Speed Limit: The marina basin has a 5 MPH / No Wake speed limit at all times.
  2. Pets: Pets must be kept on a leash at all times. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.  There are pet waste stations located around the marina property for your convenience.
  3. Insurance Requirements: All boaters are required to maintain valid insurance coverage for their vessels while moored at the marina. As a condition of occupancy, each boater must provide the marina office with a current copy of their Certificate of Insurance on an annual basis. This certificate will be kept on file as part of the marina’s records and must confirm that appropriate liability coverage is in place. Failure to provide proof of insurance may result in suspension of marina privileges or termination of the slip agreement.
  4. No Camping on Piers: Camping in tents, trailers, recreational vehicles (RVs), or similar structures is strictly prohibited on marina property, including the piers. These types of accommodations are not permitted to be parked or used within the marina. Any boater requiring special accommodation must obtain prior written approval from the Dockmaster. Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and written authorization is required before any exceptions will be granted.
  5. Public Beach Access - Wristbands are required for access to the public beaches in Lagoon City. These can be obtained from the marina office during regular business hours. All boaters and their guests must wear their wristbands while using the beaches to ensure proper access and compliance with community rules.
  6. Security - For the safety of all, boaters are reminded to secure their boats, vehicles, and personal property at all times. Lagoon City Marina is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to property while on marina premises. Security cameras are in place throughout the property; however, it remains the responsibility of each boater to ensure their belongings are properly secured. -
  7. Fuel Dock & Pump Out Station - Gasoline, diesel, and pump-out services are available at the Fuel Dock. Boaters purchasing fuel are entitled to a complimentary pump-out. For safety reasons, all passengers and operators must disembark from the vessel while fueling. Smoking is strictly prohibited in or around the fuel dock area — no exceptions.  Out of courtesy to fellow boaters, please refrain from requesting pump-out service during weekends and statutory holidays, when the fuel dock is busiest. Before approaching the fuel dock, please use VHF Channel 68 to confirm availability and avoid unnecessary congestion.
  8. Garbage & Waste  -  No boater shall place, leave, or permit any debris, refuse, or garbage to remain in common areas or on the piers, as this may attract raccoons, rodents, and other pests. All waste must be carried directly to the designated garbage areas and deposited into the appropriate bins located at the entrance of each pier. All garbage must be securely contained in properly tied polyethylene or plastic bags. Packaging materials such as cartons, crates, or boxes must be broken down and flattened before being placed in the waste bins.  Recycling bins are provided for returnable bottles and cans only. Please do not deposit paper, cardboard, or other items into the recycling bins. Compliance with these rules helps maintain cleanliness, safety, and pest control throughout the marina.
  9. Boaters’ Lounge - The Boaters’ Lounge is available for use by boaters and their guests throughout the season. Please note that the restaurant provides live entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings, during which their liquor license may be extended. At these times, individuals under the age of 19 may not be permitted to enter the lounge.  The lounge is also available for private events for a nominal fee along with a security deposit. To inquire about availability or to book the facility, please contact the Dockmaster or the marina office.
  10.  Energy & Resource Conservation
All boaters and guests are reminded to help conserve electricity and water within the marina. Please ensure that lights are turned off when leaving the common rooms, avoid unnecessary water usage, and turn off any items or equipment that are not required. When leaving your boat for longer than one day, air conditioning units must not be left running, as this places unnecessary strain on the marina’s electrical system and prevents responsible energy use. To assist with your comfort, Lagoon City Marina now offers a Concierge Program. Our Lead Concierge, Angela, is available to provide pre-arrival services, which may include preparing your boat and turning on the air conditioning in advance of your arrival, ensuring your vessel is comfortable while also supporting our energy conservation efforts.

Dock & Slip Regulations

  1. Slip Size Restrictions - Boats may only be docked in slips that are equal to or greater than the vessel’s overall length. Vessels larger than the assigned slip size are not permittedto be kept in that slip, as this creates safety hazards and interferes with adjacent boaters. All boats must be properly matched to an appropriately sized slip as determined by the marina office.
  2. Slip Use - Only vessels registered with the marina may occupy their assigned slips. Subleasing, renting, or sharing of slips is strictly prohibited without prior written approval from the marina office.
  3. Dock Safety - For the safety of all, docks must be kept clear of obstacles at all times. Hoses, power cords, lines, and other equipment must be neatly coiled, secured, and stored when not in active use.
  4. Walkways, Slip Use, and Accessory Standards - Boaters must not obstruct the walkways or pathways around the piers and boat slips. To ensure safety and uniformity, only certain items are permitted in front of slips, including one picnic table, one barbecue, and one dock box. Mosquito nets around umbrellas are also permitted.  Any additional structures such as canopies, pergolas, or similar items must receive prior written approval from the Marina Dockmaster to maintain a consistent standard and appearance throughout the property. Before purchasing, installing, or constructing any items for your slip, please obtain consent in writing.
  5. Power Connections - Only marine-grade, properly maintained power cords and connectors are permitted for use on the docks. The overloading of electrical circuits or the use of unsafe equipment is strictly prohibited.
  6. Vessel Securing - All vessels must be properly secured with adequate lines and fenders to prevent damage to docks, neighboring vessels, or marina property. It is the responsibility of each boater to ensure their vessel is safely tied and protected at all times.

Vessel Operations

  1. Transient Boaters - All transient boaters are required to register with the marina office upon arrival. Mooring agreements are available in the office and must be completed before occupying a slip. By signing the agreement, transient guests acknowledge and agree to abide by all rules and regulations of the marina during their stay.
  2. Waste Disposal - The discharge of sewage, oil, fuel, or hazardous materials into marina waters is strictly prohibited. Boaters must use the designated pump-out and waste disposal stations for proper handling of all waste.
  3. Repairs & Maintenance - Major repairs, including sanding, painting, welding, or other disruptive maintenance activities, are not permitted at slips or on docks without prior written approval from the marina office.
  4. Fueling - Fueling of vessels at slips is not permitted. All fueling operations must be carried out at the designated fueling stations in accordance with marina safety procedures.
  5. Insurance Requirements - All vessels must carry valid liability insurance. Proof of current coverage must be provided to the marina office upon request and must be kept on file as a condition of occupancy.

Parking & Vehicles

  1. Recreational Vehicles: Recreational vehicles such as dirt bikes, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), 4x4 or off road vehicles, or similar motorized equipment are not permitted anywhere on marina property. These vehicles present safety risks and disrupt the peaceful environment of the marina. The only exception is the use of golf carts, which are permitted for transportation within the property, provided they are operated safely and responsibly at all times.
  2. Parking - No motor vehicle trailer, boat, snowmobile, mechanical toboggan, machinery or equipment of any kind other than a passenger automobile, motorcycle, van shall be parked anywhere on the pier parking areas. There are no designated parking spaces within the marina; pier parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each slip is entitled to receive two seasonal parking passes.  Electric vehicles (EVs) may not be plugged into shore power at any time. Please do not connect EVs to the pier power supply. Trailers are not permitted to be parked on the piers. Dedicated trailer parking is available in the yard. Please ensure your trailer is properly marked with your name, slip number and phone number. Boaters who choose to park on the road do so at their own risk. Please be advised that this may result in a parking infraction ticket issued by the By-law Enforcement Officers of Ramara Township, unless a valid parking permit has been obtained directly from Ramara Township.
  3. Abandoned Vehicles/Vessels:Vehicles or vessels left unattended for an extended period without prior approval may be subject to removal at the owner’s expense in accordance with marina policy and applicable laws.

Safety & Emergency

  1. Fire Safety and Respect for Others - No boater or guest shall engage in any activity, or permit any activity to occur, in or around their vessel that may increase the risk of fire, affect the marina’s insurance coverage, or endanger any building or property. In addition, boaters and guests must not obstruct, interfere with, or infringe upon the rights of other boaters, nor engage in conduct that may cause injury, disturbance, or annoyance to others within the marina community. Please do not overload the electrical shore power towers.  Open flames, grills, and fireworks are strictly prohibited on docks and aboard vessels while moored, unless in designated areas approved by the marina.
  2. Emergency Procedures: In case of an emergency, immediately dial 911 and notify marina staff.
  3. VHF Channel 68 – Marina Communications - VHF Channel 68 is the designated working channel for Lagoon City Marina. Boaters must use Channel 68 to request services such as fueling, pump-outs, or docking assistance, and to confirm availability at the fuel dock before approaching. All communications on Channel 68 should be kept brief and professional, and the channel must remain clear for operational use by the marina and fellow boaters.
  4. VHF Channel 16 – Hailing & Distress Only - VHF Channel 16 is reserved strictly for hailing, distress, and emergency communications. Boaters must not use Channel 16 for extended conversations or non-emergency communications. Once initial contact has been made, all vessels are required to switch to an appropriate working channel (such as Channel 68) to continue their conversation. Misuse of Channel 16 may result in enforcement action by marine authorities.
  5. Swimming and Diving Prohibited - For safety reasons, swimming, diving, or jumping into the water from docks, piers, or vessels within the marina basin is strictly prohibited. The marina basin is an active boating area with vessel traffic, propellers, and electrical equipment present, creating serious hazards. Boaters and their guests are reminded to use designated swimming areas or public beaches outside of the marina for water activities.

Failure to comply with these noise regulations may result in enforcement actions up to and including suspension of marina privileges. Please be courteous and respectful toward fellow boaters, guests, and marina staff
  3. Alcohol Consumption: Responsible consumption of alcohol is permitted on marina property only in designated areas and in accordance with all local laws and regulations. Public intoxication, disorderly conduct, or any unsafe behavior related to alcohol use will not be tolerated and will result in immediate removal from the property, and may lead to suspension or termination of marina privileges.

  4. Damages:   Slip holders are fully responsible for any damage caused to marina property, docks, or other vessels by themselves, their vessel, crew, family members, or guests. This includes damage resulting from negligence, unsafe operation, or misconduct. All costs associated with repairs or replacements will be charged directly to the slip holder.  Slip holders are also responsible for ensuring that their guests comply with all marina rules and regulations.
